Position Description:
Uses advanced technical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair plant production equipment. Performs all duties associated with the setup of a variety of production equipment to produce quality products.
Job Responsibilities:
· Perform die cast mold change and cell adjustments according to schedule following the SMED Die set up, die connections, and correct process parameter setting to achieve and maintain targets.
· Ensure to start the die changes in time, based on the production schedule.
· Verify and make corrective adjustments to die, and peripheral equipment (hoses change, limit switch cables. Cylinder changes, plunger rod changes, plunger and shot tip changes, emergency die changes by damages to ensure the right and continuous work of the Die Casting Machine.
· Verify that all the items needed for the setup are available and ready for use.
· Move the casting and trimming tools in front of the casting cell where the setup needs to be performed.

· Supervise and register all the setup on the setup checklist.
· Validate the proper die preparation prior to a die change.
· Performing preventive action to avoid down time or scrape issues.
· Make process parameter setup of each product after every die change. Start up the Die Cast machine making sure the process parameters are correct according to the part number to make sure the correct functionality of equipment and tools and ensuring the right quality on the parts.
· (When no setup) Keep the Die Casting Machines running production.
· ALWAYS wear all the PPE prescribed to run the assigned activity.
· At the end of the setup, proceed with the production start-up and provide the quality department with the parts, once that are OK at X-ray.

Position Description:
· Must be able to read and understand directions; follow oral instructions. Metal handlers must learn color-coding associated with identifying alloys.
· Must be able to operate a forklift with a bull ladle attachment safely & efficiently. Keep forklifts battery charged & notify supervision when servicing is required. Bull ladle operation requires keen eye/hand coordination. Metal handlers must be steady and confident as they are responsible for transporting and pouring hot molten metal. Safety is very important!
· Keep furnaces and die cast machines equipped with the proper supply of metal alloy. This includes transporting hot, bar, ingot, and scrap metal to and from furnaces and die cast machines, as well as filling pots with bull ladle and/or hand ladle.
· Institute metal changes by bailing pots and emptying ingot molds. Bailing a pot is physically demanding.
· Keep all furnaces/pots well supplied and attended. This includes using proper and safe metal handling practices.
· Implement all OSHA regulations including the use of all personal protective equipment.
Specific Responsibilities
• Ensure every machine is fed in time to avoid any downtime.
• Ensure the melting furnaces are always at the appropriate level.
• De-gas every transport ladle load before transporting to the holding furnaces.
• Empty the scrap containers present on casting cells, after they have been fulfilled with scraps/runners by the machine operators.
• Clean the assigned melting furnace once per shift following the Work Instructions.
• Clean the assigned holding furnaces once per shift following the Work Instructions.
• Clean and maintain, in operational condition, the equipment needed to melt/hold/move the molten aluminum.
• Skim the surface of aluminum bath/pouring holes after each refilling of the holding furnaces.
• Empty the dross containers present at the melting furnaces/holding furnaces.
• Ensure cleanliness of the external dross container area (outside backyard area around dross dumpster).
• Check the metal temperatures in each melting/holding furnaces and record the values on the related form.
• Track the powder flux availability quantities and re-order as needed.
• Track the de-gassing tablets availability quantities and re-order as needed.
• Verify the presence of metal handling tools used for melting/holding furnaces cleaning operation. Notify the manager if depleted or non-workable.
• Check the nitrogen bottle availability for degassing operations and re-order as needed.
• Perform all the melting and pouring tasks by following the related Work Instruction / Procedures
• Responsible for safety equipment availability used for metal handling activities
• Responsible for forklift correct functioning and protections
• Create samples for Spectrometer analysis.
• Complete the cleaning documentation and ALL the records related to molten aluminum handling.
• Move approved ingots from warehouse to holding area.
• Follow and respect the FI-FO (First In-First Out) procedure.

Die Casting Shift Leader gives guidance, direction and training to employees within the department. Provide direct training to new employees, cross train current employees, re-certify employees for their dedicated areas. Apply principles of electromechanical engineering to analyze, maintain, and troubleshoot die cast machines and equipment for optimal operational safety and efficiency.
· Provide technical expertise and training in the die casting department to ensure company and departmental goals are continually achieved.
· Create Preventative Maintenance procedures and schedule.
· Train maintenance technicians to maintain machines.

Job purpose and description
This position is responsible for providing engineering support during weekdays to manufacturing areas at 2aUSA. The candidate is responsible for project management and engineering support for the plant production departments and facilities. Need to have worked in a Tier 1 facility who operated high-pressure die casting, machining with automation. This position also provides technical guidance to other engineering staff, engineering and maintenance technicians, maintenance supervisors, and others as required. The Controls Engineer is tasked with providing analysis of plant manufacturing capacity, process optimization and automation, knowledge of machine design, CAD or PLC Programming, troubleshooting and project management.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Responsible to provide support to the maintenance team internally to debug the problems related to control systems in high-pressure die casting and CNC machining.
· Works with manufacturing and other functional groups on manufacturing regulatory compliance issues.
